Last week marked a pivotal moment for PHILOSHOPIC as we convened for our annual Kick-off at Paphos. A truly meaningful three-day experience for our team, filled with reflections, goal-setting, and fun.
Themed “Almost 10: Revitalise Focus, Shape Success”, this year’s Kick-off held particular significance as we stand on the cusp of our 10th anniversary. Our aim was clear: to harness the lessons from our journey thus far, leveraging our successes and setbacks to emerge as a more innovative, seamless and customer-centric technology partner in the years to come.
Celebrating the milestones of 2023 was a moment of pride, with an outstanding 43% year-over-year growth and a notable 55% of our revenue now recurring. In addition to these achievements, establishing new partnerships and clientele for 2024 reaffirmed our impact on the shopping life and experience, reaching millions of consumers across 8 countries daily.
Demetris Constantinou, our founder and Managing Director provided an in-depth analysis of our financial results, products’ performance, and the geographic spread of our revenues. More importantly, he shared insights regarding customer feedback, highlighting both the positive aspects we need to maintain and improve, as well as the pain points experienced, setting the tone for strategic enhancements and swift action in the coming months. The plan and top targets for 2024 have been explained to the entire team, as well as the a revamped performance rewarding system that aims to empower PHILOSHOPERS, ensuring their contributions are recognized and valued.
Under the guidance of Xenios Kyriakides, our dev-team leader, innovative strategies and tactics – with a renewed focus on productivity and collaboration- were unveiled to propel us towards our objectives for the upcoming year. Embracing agility through the Kanban methodology – recently migrating from Scrum – investing to further tools and applying best practices will strengthen our Customer Centricity. Our flagship SMASH Framework has a bold plan for new useful features across the various solutions offered to our customers. Our country-leading PHILOBROKER eInvoicing ZATCA compliance solution is heading to lifecycle having reached maturity, as we currently serve among others 3 of the top 7 Grocery retailers and 3 of the top 10 c-store/petroleum chains in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – a truly remarkable achievement -thanks to our solution robustness and strategic partnerships as Leonidas Stavrinides, who leads that product line, has outlined. Among the event highlights was a brainstorming session where the entire team generated and explored ideas on how to make our dev-team more effective in delivering projects with shorter lead times and higher quality. Several action items are already lined up!
But it wasn’t all work! The event, held at the amazing Elysium Hotel, provided plenty of time to relax and enjoy the exceptional facilities and spa services. Furthermore, the partners in life and kids of PHILOSHOPERS joined in, demonstrating our appreciation for their support throughout the year which fosters a better work-life balance for our team members and a cozy and inclusive culture. Due to the sunny weather, we relished outdoor team-building activities provided by GAMESTERY, fostering collaboration and laughter. We also took a long walk and explored the nearby archaeological site “Tombs of the Kings”, guided by our colleague and local expert, Georgia Papaneofytou, who shared enriching insights into the areas’ history.
To cap off our event, we gathered at a traditional Cypriot taverna to honor our achievements indulging in dinner, plenty of drinks, music, and dance!
